Last week, at one of our local churches, I saw a poster on the wall that said, "We don't sing, 'O come some of ye faithful.'" I thought that was a simple but clever way of getting the point across, and really cool. Sometimes (I might even say "often") Berkeley -- and its residents, organizations, businesses, etc. -- really rocks.

I didn't make it to SF for Pride this year, but I'm sure Lisa must have been there. Probably Fred, too. Unfortunately, many of my other Pride-enthusiastic friends have moved out of the area or become prohibitively busy. I used to love going to the parade, but I haven't gone in several years. I've been maimed! I've been maimed! Cobweb totally bit me today, resulting in my thumb pouring blood out of two little vampire punctures. I don't blame her, though, because I was trying to shove a pill down her throat when it happened. While out running errands this afternoon, I saw a clean-cut twenty-something guy standing at the corner in front of Trader Joe's (University/MLK) holding up a big hand-painted sign that said, "YOU'RE PERFECT."
